With support from COMP, under the leadership of Daniel Rickey, Chair of COMP Imaging Committee, the Canadian Agency for Drugs & Technologies in Health (CADTH) was able to collect data on how CT, MRI, PET-CT and PET, SPECT, SPECT-CT, and PET-MRI are being used, where they are located, and how many exams are conducted annually.
This information helps to guide planning and other decisions and helps identify gaps in service. As well, the data captured in the Canadian Medical Imaging Inventory (CMII) report enables CADTH to work with health care leaders, professional and clinical societies, and other stakeholders to identify and address critical barriers to the effective use of medical imaging. The French version of the report will be available shortly.
