Cindy Tam, Radiation Oncology Physicist, PEI Cancer Treatment Centre, in Charlottetown, PEI

What is your most gratifying experience as a medical physicist? I feel lucky and humbled to be working in a field where my interest in science impacts people's health, because let's face it, physics isn't always very job-friendly!

Who was your role model as an aspiring student and why? All of my past supervisors --Vicky Kaspi (astrophysics), Ingrid Spadinger, and Claire McCann-- have been role models, and coincidentally, all of them were women juggling busy families with kids and successful physics careers.

What is your favourite food? Noodles, in any form!

Who is your favourite action hero and why? Buffy the Vampire Slayer?  I'm not sure if she counts as an action hero or is my favourite, but she definitely kicks ass.

What was your second career choice, after Medical Physics? Actually, medical physics is my second career, my first one was as a research astronomer (Hi Lisa!).  Third choice: roller coaster designer, if that exists.
