Dear COMP Members,

October is Women’s History Month in Canada, with this year’s theme being “Because of her”. It's to celebrate that where we are now is so often down to the influence of one or more very special women in our lives, whether it's a family member, teacher, friend or colleague.

The COMP Women's Committee would like to add a Medical Physics twist to this and so invites you to take this opportunity to share your stories of how extraordinary women have influenced your life, career, or perspective.

Feel free to interpret this as widely as you want - whether it's that you were inspired by reading about a famous female scientist, or that a high school teacher set you on the road towards a career in physics, or that someone close to you caused a real shift in your life direction. Send us, a quote, a comment or your testimonial to be published on the COMP Facebook or Twitter account.
